The Great Big Wellyfest!

The Great Big Wellyfest is a children’s festival like no other. It features the best in live entertainment coupled with learning experiences, crafts and have a go workshops which help educate young people but also inspires families to have fun together. Through learning and play children will have experiences that they will fondly remember for a lifetime. The concept of outdoor festivals is well established and many events are now annual features on the calendar.

Many of the larger music festivals have a section that caters for children but few actually put the children as the focus for the event. The Great Big Wellyfest is created and designed to inspire children and families to engage in activities that bring them closer to nature and inspire, whether this is through music, art, dance or drama. By using experienced professionals who are used to working with children the Great Big Wellyfest is able to appeal to children of all ages and there really is something for everyone. Adults are delighted as their children splash in their wellies, stomp through muddy puddles and enjoy a day of uninhibited fun.

2012 saw the launch of the Great Big Wellyfest concept with a pilot event at Blacker Hall Farm in Wakefield. The event was enjoyed by many and the core concept was born. Much has changed since 2012 but the principles of fun and learning remain at the heart of the Great Big Wellyfest. Learn more about our festivals here.
